Hunger is not a Thanksgiving Issue:
It is an issue 365 days in our city

 

People from across San Antonio are participating in a fast, all working together to help reduce hunger for families in need here in San Antonio.  They are creating a fast of their own design and fasting until they personally raise $1,000. Beginning Nov. 6th, you can donate to their personal effort or a group they have put together or to the general effort of supporting the Inner City Emergency Food Pantry.  A link to "Mighty Cause" will be posted on that day.  You may also join the fast on that day!

 

Inner City is projected to serve over 45,000 meals this year to families who are in crisis and will also supplement food needs for the children's summer program and for the sack lunches for those with no house to cook, no food and no money. To meet that demand, volunteers are trying to reach an overall fundraising target of $35,000 before noon on November 20th, to keep the shelves stocked for 365 days. 

 

When the emergency pantry is secure for funds for 365 days, funds raised over that amount will go to supplement other needs for the children's programs..

 

The fast begins on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. There will be a kickoff at Inner City -- You may join us there at 1300 Chihuahua St. At that time, volunteers will be available for interviews in both English and Spanish. We will continue to fast and raise funds until we meet our goal!
